Printing that fits
Large format printing covers anything bigger than a poster: banners, wall graphics, window vinyls, fabric panels, floor graphics, backlit films and printed boards. The print is easy. The difficulty is making a graphic fit the thing it is going on, to the millimetre, on a date.
We print as part of building the structure, so the graphic is cut and checked against the actual drawing, not a template that might be out of date.
Materials
Self-adhesive vinyl for walls, windows and floors. Tensioned fabric for lightweight panels that fold flat. Rigid boards for stands and signs. Backlit film for lightboxes. Banner material for outdoor use. Each has a finish and a lifetime, and we recommend the one that suits where the graphic will live and how long it must last.
From artwork to install
We check your artwork for resolution, bleed and colour before it is printed, and show you a proof when colour matters. Prints are finished, hemmed, laminated or mounted as the job needs, packed to arrive unmarked and fitted by our installers or supplied for yours.
For rollouts, we print to a single approved standard, so every site looks the same.
Where it is used
Exhibition stands, retail windows and interiors, pop-up shops, event venues, building wraps and hoardings. Often the graphics are the last thing to arrive and the first thing a visitor sees, so reliability matters more than anything.
Working with agencies and builders
Stand builders and agencies use us to take print off their desk: one supplier who prints, checks and fits. We work to your timetable and your install window, and report back when the job is done.
Preparing artwork that prints well
Large images forgive less than people expect. A file that looks sharp on a screen can break up at three metres. Supply artwork at full size or a clear fraction of it, with the resolution stated, and we advise on whether it will hold at the size you want.
Keep text and logos away from edges, allow bleed where the graphic runs off the panel, and flag any seams or joins. We check fonts, colour mode and overprint before printing and send back anything we are unsure of.
For wall graphics we ask for a measured survey or drawing of the surface, including sockets, switches, corners and any door frames the image must wrap.
Surfaces and finishes
The surface decides the method. Smooth painted plaster takes vinyl well. Brick, render and textured walls need a different film or a printed fabric system. Glass can carry cut vinyl, printed film or a translucent graphic that lets light through.
Finishes change the look and the life. Matt reduces glare under spotlights, gloss lifts colour, and a laminate protects floors and high-touch areas. For short-term use a removable adhesive avoids marks on the wall behind.
If you tell us where the print will be and for how long, we recommend the material and finish that suit it, and we say so plainly when the cheapest option will not last.
Checks, delivery and installation
Before printing in volume we make a proof for colour and, on request, a small sample on the actual material. Panels are numbered and packed in installation order, with a layout plan so the team on site can work without guessing.
Rolled prints are packed to avoid creasing, and rigid boards are protected at the corners. Delivery to a venue or exhibition hall is timed to the access slot you have been given.
Our install teams can fit the graphics, trim them and clean the surface afterwards. We take photographs of the finished work for your records.
Planning for time and access
Large jobs are won or lost on access. Tell us the hours the venue allows, whether a lift or loading bay is available, and whether the install must happen overnight or around trading.
We agree a programme that works back from the opening date, with a margin for proof changes. If the artwork is late, we say what that does to the date, so you can decide in time.
Spare panels and a short care note are supplied where graphics will be touched, cleaned or moved.
What we print
Questions
What file formats do you accept?
PDF is best, at full size or a clear fraction of it. We check every file before printing.
Can you install the graphics?
Yes, on site anywhere in the UK, and abroad by arrangement.
How quickly can you print?
Often within days. Tell us your deadline and we will confirm what is possible.
Can you match our brand colours?
Yes. We proof colour on request.
Do you print for exhibitions?
Yes, to fit stand structures and hall rules.
What is the largest single print you can make?
That depends on the material. Large pieces are printed in panels and joined so the seams are hard to see. Tell us the size and we will plan the join.
Can you print on difficult surfaces?
Often, yes. Tell us the surface, the location and how long the graphic must last, and we will recommend a suitable material before you commit.
